Kit Mouat, Consultant

Kit joined Goodman Tavendale Reid as a Consultant in 2009, bringing an extensive legal background, particularly in land and property based matters.

Kit was previously in-house legal counsel for Landcorp and previous to this, the Department of Lands and Survey. He has extensive experience in working on High Court and Land Valuation Tribunal cases, Crown Land matters and with the Government on Judicial Reviews and Select Committees. More recently, Kit has been practicing as a Sole Practitioner in Christchurch and providing specialist advice and representation to both clients and fellow legal practitioners throughout New Zealand.

Kit is an accredited supplier to LINZ (Land Information New Zealand) and has a detailed understanding of all land matters. He specialises in advising the agricultural sector and his expertise includes High Country tenure reviews, resource law (including foreshore and seabed, Conservation land, Queen's chain issues), land status, Maori issues, planning, conveyancing, valuation and arbitrations. Kit is an experienced litigator and appears before all New Zealand Courts on behalf of his clients.
