The banking and finance team at Goodman Tavendale Reid forms part of its corporate and commercial group. The firm is currently a member of the legal panel for a national trading Bank and also provides advice on banking and securities law to entities throughout the South Island.
The team comprises a number of individuals with extensive experience in the banking sector both in New Zealand and abroad. This experience includes providing advice in relation to bilateral and syndicated loan facilities for property finance, and development finance transactions as well as extensive experience in structured finance, capital markets and derivative transactions.
Goodman Tavendale Reid acts for the receivers and liquidators of national insolvency practices and has extensive business recovery experience. The firm is well versed in all aspects of securities law as well as the requirements of the PPSA.
Work recently undertaken by members of the banking and finance team includes:
- advising Banks in relation to commercial and property finance lending including due diligence, provision of structuring advice and the preparation and negotiation of all transaction documentation
- preparing prospectuses and investment statements for a range of entities
acting for a significant New Zealand company in relation to its trans-Tasman banking facilities - advising Bank appointed Receivers in the disposal of assets of New Zealand manufacturer including advising on PPSA issues and cross border issues in relation to foreign domiciled assets
- advising a manufacturer of energy efficient products in relation to the raising of multi million dollar equity investment from Australian investors
- advising in relation to structured derivative transactions including regulatory issue
- advising on the issue of convertible notes to offshore investors.
